Roxy Pollywog Sandal Girls

A small wedge in the Roxy Girls’ Pollywog Wedge Flip-Flops helps keep your girl’s long jeans off the floor, while a glittery upper adds fun sparkle to summer outfits. A polyweb liner on the Pollywog Flip-Flops feels more comfortable than those all-rubber drugstore sandals.

    5 Stars Outstanding Performer
I have had my H2 sandals for over 3 years, and have put well over 1K miles on mine. Around town, in the water, and on the trail. They have not worn out or fallen apart, or lost color. I did have to have a shoe repairman reinforce the seams on the fabric where the side panels meet the sole, maybe 100 miles ago, but after 1K miles, I guess a little seam repair is more than reasonable. I just bought another pair, on sale, but they are still in the box cause the old ones are still going strong.

    4 Stars Newport H2
A lot of people say it feels a half size too small but I think it feels true to

both size and width. I received these shoes and was pleased to find that there

    isn’t any break-in time. I have a job where I walk around for 8 hours straight;

I wore these the first day without any pain later that evening or the next day.

There is an adjustable elastic cord that can be tightened, but I think the shoes

are more comfortable if they are left a little loose. I had them tightened one

day and noticed a pinching sensation after a couple hours of use. Another reason

to wear them loose is that it makes it easier to put them back on if your feet

    are wet or sweaty

They feel like they have very good traction but I’m not walking through rivers

with slippery rocks so it isn’t the best test.

Because these are closed-toe sandals, it creates a problem when small rocks,

sand, or other objects get into the shoe. I found that I can’t just wiggle my

foot around to get rid of the nuisance, I need to take the shoe completely off

and dump it out. Another thing I noticed about these shoes is that it dried out

the back of my heels. I only had to apply lotion once to correct the dryness and

I have not had a problem since, but it is something to be aware of.

Overall this is a great sandal and I don’t have to worry about sticks or other

objects stabbing my toes because of the closed-toe feature. I have owned these

for about a month now and they don’t show any signs of wear so I expect them to

hold up for a long time. I would not recommend them for walking around on the

beach because sand and rocks get trapped underneath your feet and up in the toe

area, but for walking through rivers and as a casual shoe these are great. One

last problem that I just thought of is that they aren’t comfortable for standing around with minimal movement for long periods of time. It’s possibly just my feet, but anyone interested in these should try them on and stand around for a while to see how they feel.

5 Stars Lose the Heavy Boots
I don’t have this exact pair. I got mine from Bass Shoes (not Bass Pro) for $39. So, I like this one because of its price but also because of the toe portion. Some might shun sandals because stuff gets in them while you walk. Wood chips are not fun under your arch. However, the toe on these are covered which minimizes this issue. Nothing got in mine during the second half of a ten mile day hike I was on. The heel is not covered on these (mine are covered), but still provides a shoe like feel. If it’s warm enough, these are great. You can walk through water without being bothered at all. Even water proof boots can get wet inside if the water is deep enough.

    4 Stars Better than Teva’s
I bought these to go canyoneering and hiking. My Teva’s didn’t have toe protection and the font of my foot would pop out.

The sandals fit a bit tight at first and have become more comfortable as I wear them. I have a wide foot and these fit great for wide feet. They don’t dry as quickly as I had hoped. They don’t grip wet rocks as well as I had hoped either.

These have become my go to sandals for outdoor activities.

    5 Stars Great Experience
I recently purchased some of the “KEEN Newport H2 sandals”, and I think they are the Greatest! I wear them almost every day. They truly are extremely comfortable and so versatile I can wear them to work, to the park and in wetlands. I recommend them.

Salomon Pro Amphibian Unisex Hiking Shoes

Salomon Pro Amphibian Unisex Hiking Shoes

The Salomon Pro Amphib shoe is a slightly beefier version of Salomon’s famed Tech Amphibian shoe. The Pro Amphibs blur the line between sandal and shoe. They protect your feet like shoes but drain water like a sandal via 5 drainage ports. And the 2-way stretch mesh upper and Kevlar laces won’t absorb water so you don’t carry around extra weight until your shoes dry. The Pro Amphib was built off the Tech Amphibian’s last but has a heavier duty back, a women’s specific design, and TPU buckles that increase durability and support. Salomon also added a measure of cushioning to the top for enhanced comfort. An adjustable, collapsible back folds down conveniently for slip-on mode. Try them with neoprene socks for cold water protection. Bottom Line: Adventure racers, river rats, and anywhere tromping around in or near the water will love the Pro Amphib.
